Health Fair

Health fairs by UCF are public health interventions involving many activities to promote health including educational initiatives for community development. UCF endeavors to achieve community development through community participation. The health fair provides fitness demonstrations, educational health content, local wellness and health resources, healthy food samples, and health screenings. The scope of activities extends to all ages, women, and children. In addition to the health screens, the event offers many fun activities such as fashion shows, shopping vendors, cooking, exercise tutorials, demonstrations and more. The free health screens help in early diagnosis and treatment of the patients. The health screens for the most common diseases and detailed tests take place at the fair including blood pressure, cholesterol (HDL and LDL), blood sugar, pulse oximetry, and bone density screens. Fasting for 10-12 hours is generally recommended to get the screening tests. For community participation we collaborate with various units such as employees at a workplace in association with workplace wellness. These health fairs also conduct certain health screens and provide information and education about preventive healthcare solutions.
